Same for me really. But, I remember seeing a youngish bloke in his lorry with a pipe in his mouth one day. I was early twenties I'd guess and had just started driving vans and wanted to drive lorries. So seeing someone much less than fifty years old in a lorry, pipe in mouth stayed with me. I think I was early/mid thirties when I bought my first pipe. A Peterson from Selfridges in London.

For me it was just the logical step for my smoking journey. I'd been smoking cigs for like 30 years and had started smoking cigars and just though,"What the hell!" let's buy pipe ! I did about 10 years ago and eventhough I don't smoke it much (about once or twice a week) I still love it 😋
